The extension of the Orange metro line (line 2) towards Laval covers 5.2 km, with three new metro stations: Cartier, De La Concorde (intermodal with Montreal/Blainville-Saint-Jerome commuter train), and Montmorency. The Agence métropolitaine de transport (Metropolitan Public Transit Agency) acts as main contractor for this project which soon becomes one of the most important worksites in urban area in Quebec. Aside of the construction of the three stations themselved, the project includes:

  • A single by-pass, a third platform and new layout and access corridors at the Henri-Bourassa metro station;
  • An underground garage accommodating 5 trains under the levelled car parking at Montmorency metro station;
  • Eight complete auxiliary structures with mechanical ventilation shafts, ventilation shafts, rectifier rooms and secondary distribution rooms, signalling and communication stations, substations and emergency exits;
  • 5.2 km of tunnels.
