Construction of a library and a multipurpose room
Located in Monteregie, south of Montreal, Chambly is filled with heritage and history, well anchored in the present, proud of its pass, and looking towards the future. Its public library, built in 1974, was no longer meeting the current population’s needs, so the City decided to build a new one, the “Pôle du savoir, du patrimoine et de la culture” (Knowledge, Heritage and Culture Pole), with a multipurpose room. Modern, spacious and filled with light, the new library and its 65,000-book collection quickly became “the” intergenerational place in Chambly. Amongst the new services: a self-loan service, reading areas, computers, work rooms, animation for kids, and a permanent exhibition.
