To supply the city of Montreal with gas, Gaz Métro wanted to build a four-kilometre pipeline connecting the existing Trans Québec & Maritimes (TMQ) network to the eastern portion of the Montreal island.

This project involved the construction of:

  • Two pipeline sections totalling four kilometres: the first being a 2-kilometer high pressure transportation pipeline (323 mm), and the second being a distribution pipeline (610 mm);
  • A city delivery point and regulation station, acting as a junction between the two pipelines;
  • All facilities required to connect the new pipeline at the starting points, the TQM pipeline, and delivery points, the LSR (liquefaction, storage and regasification) plant in the eastern portion of the Montreal island.
