The Société de transport de Laval (Laval Public Transit Corporation) must expand its actual facilities to meet the progressive arrival of its new electrical buses, the increased transportation demand from citizens, and thus, the total amount of buses required. The targeted site is located at the corner of Francis-Hughes Avenue and Cunard Street, in the industrial sector of Chomedey in Laval, and the expansion will cover the actual employees parking lot.

At the end of the project, the STL garage will spread over the equivalent of eight football fields. Due to the requirements related to the gradual acquisition of new electrical buses, the expansion must be completed by July 2025. It will include:

  • The addition of extra indoor parking spaces for network’s supervisors;
  • The addition of a new bus exit on Francis-Hugues Avenue;
  • An electronic workshop and a satellite store;
  • A warehouse, a workshop, and offices for the Infrastructures Department;
  • A new employee’s entrance;
  • New mechanical, electrical and computer rooms;
  • A new external electrical room;
  • Outdoors spaces for new generators.
