Construction of a cultural complex

Construction of a cultural complex

  • Implementation Strategies

The City of Longueuil is developing a new cultural complex in the Place Charles-Le Moyne vicinity. This particular site was chosen by the City to transform a site that has only been used for transit until now, into a privileged destination with the Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station at its centre.

This new complex will also host the Théâtre de la Ville, a cultural institution currently located at the Longueuil Édouard-Montpetit College.

As the current installations no longer meet the Théâtre’s needs, it was decided to move into the new complex. This project is part of a mixt real-estate complex including:

  • Two auditorial facilities with respectively 1,200 and 500 seats;
  • A 400-seat cabaret;
  • Two creation studios;
  • An exhibition centre;
  • Spaces for cultural organizations;
  • An administration complex for the City;
  • Public and private underground parking.
