Centre de maintenance Pointe-Saint-Charles

Modifications, Pointe-Saint-Charles Maintenance Centre

  • Quantity Surveying
  • Cost Control

The Centre de maintenance Pointe-Saint-Charles (Pointe-Saint-Charles maintenance center) hosts commuter trains using the Canadian National railway network. It stands in the middle of Montréal’s railways origins back in the 19th Century, in the western part of the city: the previous location of the Canadian National workshops, less than 2 km away from the Gare Centrale (Central Station).

The Agence métropolitaine de transport (Metropolitan Public Transit Agency), managing the commuter trains, had to modify its project already in progress, to integrate some of the future Réseau express métropolitain (Metropolitan Express Network) activities. Those modifications included:

  • Demolition of new buildings;
  • Redevelopment of spaces in construction;
  • Credits for works not done;
  • Reuse of materials and equipment already purchased or under construction;
  • New construction.
