Upgrading of Michel-Normandin arena – Montréal

Municipal arenas upgrading support programs

  • Project management

The City of Montréal owns a network of 40 indoor skating rinks, in 34 arenas or sports complexes. Pursuant to the Montréal Protocol, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and Quebec’s Air and Environment Quality Act, the City of Montréal must replace all Freon refrigeration systems (HCFC-22) by 2020. The City of Montréal hires Macogep to bring the Michel-Normandin arena up to standard. This is the first arena that Macogep is working on as part of the City’s program. Macogep must manage all stakeholders to successfully carry out the project while minimizing the impact of work on the arena’s users and activities. The project is being carried out within budget and on schedule.
